DeMarco Communications To Launch Official Bergenfield Town Periodical

June 15th, 2007

BERGENFIELD, NJ – DeMarco Communications has been selected by another New Jersey municipality to produce an official monthly publication.

On June 12, 2007, the Bergenfield Borough Council passed a resolution appointing DeMarco Communications to produce an official Borough periodical, the Bergenfield Bulletin. The Bulletin will contain articles, feature stories, and photographs submitted by various Borough departments and offices, as well as event schedules and a Borough phone directory.

Under DC’s operation, the monthly periodical will be designed, produced, printed, and mailed to every residence in the Borough at no cost to the municipality or to taxpayers. All costs are paid for by DC, and offset by advertising sold by the company to local businesses.

Entering the field of official town publications with its operation of the Ridgefield Times in 2006, DC has since launched the official publications the Dumont Dispatch, the Hillsdale Herald, and now the Bergenfield Bulletin. DC is currently in discussions with a limited number of other local municipalities regarding launching their own official periodicals during the remainder of this year.

“Providing residents every month with an official town publication is a great way of increasing the accountability and responsiveness of public officials to their constituents”, according to Carmine DeMarco, President of DC. “It provides another channel by which town government can communicate with residents, and get critical information delivered into each and every home, at no expense whatsoever to the taxpayers.”

DC’s companion company, Virtual Town Pages, LLC, creates and maintains the official web sites for a number of New Jersey municipalities. Hence, DC and VTP together furnish a single umbrella under which a town government can enjoy the benefits of a consistent, uniform, comprehensive, multimedia approach to the dissemination of information to its residents.

DeMarco Communications Launches Hillsdale Official Town Periodical

June 13th, 2007

Hillsdale Herald inaugural editionHILLSDALE, NJ – DeMarco Communications has launched another official monthly publication on behalf of a New Jersey municipality, this time for the Borough of Hillsdale entitled the Hillsdale Herald.

On June 5, 2007, the Hillsdale Mayor & Council awarded a bid contract to DC to publish an official Borough bulletin. Hillsdale Mayor Dennis Deutsch commented, “This relationship came about as a result of my continuing search to save tax dollars. The Hillsdale Herald replaces our monthly one sheet ‘bulletin’ which has been published by Borough Hall for years at a cost of about $10,000.00 annually. Now, we will have a more extensive, better appearing, easier to read monthly newspaper which will contain much more information about what is going on in Hillsdale and other information at no cost to the Hillsdale taxpayer.”

The Hillsdale Herald contains articles, feature stories, and photographs submitted by various Borough departments and offices, as well as event schedules and a Borough phone directory. Under DC’s operation, the monthly periodical is designed, produced, printed, and mailed to every residence in the Borough at no cost to the municipality or to taxpayers. All costs are paid for by DC, and offset by advertising sold by the company to local businesses.

“Providing residents every month with an official town publication like the Hillsdale Herald is a great way of increasing the accountability and responsiveness of public officials to their constituents”, added Carmine DeMarco, President of DC. “It provides another channel by which town government can communicate with residents, and get critical information delivered into each and every home, at no expense whatsoever to the taxpayers.”

Web Site Project for Bergen Democrats Comes to Close

August 14th, 2006

FORT LEE – The project by DeMarco Communications (DC) to establish an Internet presence for the Bergen County Democratic Organization has come to a close as of July 20. DC was advised by the BCDO’s Field Director, Keith Carbone, that the organization would be receiving a new web site through the New Jersey State Democratic Committee and therefore no longer required DC’s services.

screenshot of Bergen County Democrats web site created by DeMarco CommunicationsThe project commenced last summer to revitalize the Organization’s then-dormant web site at http://www.bcdems.com. The BCDO sought to provide fresh content and current information to the public, as well as provide a means of disseminating news and announcements about activities and events within the Democratic Party in Bergen County. To accomplish those goals, DC launched a completely redesigned 12-page web site for the Bergen Democrats in September 2005, which included sections for News & Events, bios and photos of Elected Democratic Officials, information on Current Democratic Candidates, a directory of the BCDO’s Officers & Staff, Voter Assistance, and a separate section for the Young Democrats. Portions of the site were set up to be directly maintained by the Organization itself, although site updates unfortunately fell off upon the departure of the BCDO’s Coordinator who had spearheaded the project.

Upon the ending of its involvement, DC received an expression of gratitude from a representative of the BCDO, stating, “Thank you so much for everything . . . . I appreciate all that you did for us and I look forward to working with you in the future.”
